It is a copy of the famous masterpiece of Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer, 'The Milkmaid', or known as 'The Kitchen maid'. It is now in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Copying of a masterpiece helps me to share the feeling of the artist. We cannot go back to the time they were, but we can imagine how they lived. We live in a house with modern kitchen equipped with microwave, and with canned food. The face of maid in my painting is younger than the one in the original painting, and the tone is brighter.
